🍸 Weekly Lesson:
The Only Sales Strategy You Need

This sales strategy applies to ALMOST every sales scenario as a server or bartender.

The only one it doesn’t apply to, is when you have to guide the guest to find which entree or item they want. It still slightly applies, but in this specific scenario it would be a finishing line.

The strategy is called: The Assumed Close.

It is using assumptive language to trigger the guests brain to decide between the options instead of deciding whether or not they want something.

I will give you some examples:

Instead of:

❌ “Did you want another cocktail?”

You should say:

✅ “Same thing or something different?”

OR

✅ “Another one now or in a few minutes?”

Instead of:

❌ “Did you want a starter?”

You should say:

✅ “What are we sharing as a starter? Baked clams, calamari, shrimp cocktail?”

Instead of:

❌ “Did you want dessert tonight?”

You should say:

✅ “What are we sharing for dessert? Chocolate lava cake, Tres Leches or Tiramisu?”

Instead of:

❌ “Did you want to add any sides?”

You should say:

✅ “What sides are we adding for the table? Truffle Fries, lobster mac, brussel sprouts?”

You get the idea.

You do not have to use the same exact verbiage as listed.

In fact, I hope you change it up a little, but keep the same idea.

So instead of “Same thing or something different?” you might say “Another vodka soda or changing it up?” or maybe they were in between a vodka soda and a martini to start so you say “another vodka soda or switching to the martini?”.
