Is Serving Tables Fun…?

If I asked you: “Is serving tables fun?”, what would you say?

If you answer “no” then you have to make some changes!

Making serving fun will not only make you more money, but make you happier in life.

Sorry to get sentimental with you, but having the wrong mindset with this job directly affects how much money you make.

Stop looking at this as “just serving until I finish college” or “just doing this on the side because I have to” and start thinking of this as a great source of income that you can control and have fun while doing.

Let’s list out some of the PROS of serving:

  • Flexible Work Hours: Many restaurants offer flexible scheduling, making it easier to balance work with personal commitments, school or other jobs

  • Social Interaction: Serving tables provides opportunities to meet new people, both customers and colleagues, fostering social skills and connections.

  • Tips and Earnings Potential: In addition to a base pay, you can earn $50 - $100 an hour at the right place! And you can give yourself a raise by just being better!

  • Exciting: Serving is never boring! Every experience and day is different.

  • Team Environment: You get some of the greatest friendships from serving.

So…change your mindset on serving and start having some fun!

A few ways I would always make serving enjoyable was by making some jokes, being sarcastic with the right guests and ultimately trying to make people smile because it is super contagious.

You don’t have to be a comedian, but just having a few quick and easy jokes will help you dramatically.
